OUR NIGERIA LOCAL CONTENT

Purpose: Bluebox Engineering is committed to using and developing to the fullest possible capacity qualified
Nigerians in all aspects of its operations.
As a fully registered Nigerian company Bluebox Engineering Limited is committed to the maximal use of qualified
Nigerian content for all its services. We recognize the need to provide employment opportunities for the
communities where we operate through direct employment and skills transfer that will outlast the completion of
the project.
Definitions: Nigerian Local Content is defined as the quantum of composite value added to, or created in the
Nigerian economy through the utilization of Nigerian human and material resources and services in the
exploration development, exploitation, transportation and sales of Nigerian crude oil and gas resources, resulting
in the development of indigenous capabilities, in order to encourage foreign investment and participation, without
compromising quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
Scope: This Policy applies to all aspects of our operations. Nigerian professionals will be utilized for all our
operations and Nigerian sub-contractors will be employed when the need arises. Where possible equipment and
machines manufactures in Nigeria will also be used in our operations.
Priority will be given to use of goods and services of Nigerian origin consistent with normal criteria for price,
quality and delivery. Nigerian representatives and/or agencies will be utilized to import the goods and service
from outside Nigeria that are not available in Nigeria. Local Content Development Plan and Strategy –
Objectives:

  • Improve capacity development in the oil and gas sector
  • Reduce the dependence on foreign companies for projects in the national oil and gas sector.
  • Sustain the economy by reducing the demand for forex on projects
  • Enhance transfer of technology and empowerment of local and indigenous contractors.
  • Encourage efficiency and competition among indigenous contractors.
    Local Content Development Plan and Strategy – Implementation: Our experience over the years have
    helped us to understand clearly the reasons for and the practical advantages of Local Content Policy and its
    impact within the Oil and Gas sector. Our contracting policy allows special contract awards to
    Nigerian/community contractors as far as they have the capability to carry out such contracts.
  • Support the Nigerian universities through the provision of software and training support
  • Prompt payment of invoices of indigenous contractors
  • Train young Nigerians to occupy key/strategic project areas and skill acquisition knowledge program.
